    If an English speaking foreigner spends 1 hour a day learning Chinese, how long, you think, does it take him or her to learn to understand 3000 Chinese characters?

    She is very smart, and I'm really new at this. I thought I would add in two hours a week of geography and history into the mix just for something different. Any ideas? Nothing serious because she is very young, but something fun, like an activity that would get her thinking about our history, or how to use maps, silly things for a little one would be good. Also, any homeschool sites that you use would be nice. We are fundemental christians, and use bible in our studies, but any activities will be nice. thank you!

    I have three gifted boys, and as anyone with gifted kids knows, that means trouble. My boys are 5, 7, and 10 (with mental ages of 8, 11, and 15). We do Scouts, 4-H, Community Theater, science experiments a few times a week and whatever else I can think of. I'm a very clever woman but a bout of bronchitis has left me at less than creative. Any fun ideas, please? I need a few new activities for next week.
